Moving to Boston! Looking for emissions info
Hey, I'm moving to Boston soon and taking my 135 with me.
I run catless DPs with a Cobb tune. The tune prevents CELs from coming up, and I've read that mass lets you have one failure. Using the torque app with the tune active gives me this: Is incomplete treated the same as a failure, is one allowed in mass? Or does anyone know of any 'friendly' testing centers in the area? |

There are no friendly test centers in mass. I mean I'm sure they are friendly in person, but the computers used to check the cars are very accurate and even if you reset your battery within 60 miles, it will reject your car.
My suggestion would be to slap stock downpipe on, drive enough for system to know that and get the inspection. |

Nice. Is it meant for continuous use or only for testing (some "DP fix" devices are only meant for short term use and continuous use can adversely affect the vehicle)?

Interesting. Seems to be the Holy Grail we late-model N55'ers have been looking for.

No idea what area 74 is.
I just noticed this had some replies, so for posterity, I ended up installing a dp fix (15 minutes? yeah right... the dme connectors are a bitch) and passed fine. I went to four different shops because the wait time was over an hour at the first three, none were doing visual inspections as far as I could tell. They did test my wiper fluid, which ran out during the test. Good thing I had a jug in the trunk I have no plans to remove the fix since I can't think of any logical reason it would have a negative impact. |
