I'm probably ordering one soon. What dealership did u guys deal with? Braman in Miami are pompous jerks. They did nothing but try to show me 328 coupes that no one wants rather than what I came there to see!
Any dealership sell below MSRP? I'm going to low ball everyone. |

My car is listed in my signature.
Is there such thing as a BMW "Local Show" around here, where BMW drivers/enthusiasts can gather to show off their cars?

Pondo, on your question on dealerships, here is my two cents.
On Lauderdale, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Way too long to give details on sales/service/etc. I will just give this much. From highest service costs, to them trashing my mother's 5-Series, to my brother hiring a lawyer TWICE to get them to do warranty repairs, etc etc etc. Just woe after woe there. On Vista, I had just one walk-in to review them, see what they had on the lot. They seem nice, but small dealership. Braman, you must have had a bad sales guy. I know that dealership well, from the salesmen to the sales managers to even the General Manager. I have bought two cars from them now, and both my mother and brother will go as well. Even my mother's boyfriend purchases from there. Go back to Braman, specifically ask for the BMW salesman named Jesus Diaz. He sits near the sales manager's office. He knows my car VERY well. Tell him that the guy with my car (describe it to him) specifically recommended him, and he will absolutely take care of you. If he doesn't, let me know. As for lowballing, you won't get that. BMW overall (not just any dealer or North America) is hanging on quite well in this economy. They actually raised all their prices, cut production, and their sales are still moving. Even Mini is selling like mad and those prices are really climbing. The only lowball you will be able to do is if by wild chance they still have any 2008's on the lot. If so, you can steal those. But 2009, nope, expect full price. That's the price you pay for the best warranty in the biz. Good luck.

I'm sorry Tbird, but I'll have to strongly disagree there.
Lauderdale Imports has been nothing short of spectacular for my wife and I. We've bought 4 cars from them and referred 3 more. Contact Carolyn Simon, and tell her "shervin" sent you and she will take good care of you. At the Service dept, Matt Bitman and Todd Miller, who are the service managers, are extremely good at their job, and have always taken care of me like a champ (knock on wood). As for low balling and pricing, YMMV, but I was able to get my 135i for $1300 over ED invoice. Just this past month I recommended a friend and he got a 335i for $1200 over US invoice.

I know Matt Bittman. I will grant that he is not bad. His predecessor for when Matt was running the Body Shop for a year or so (can't remember his name off the top of my head) was the one who trashed my mother's car and then tried to pull an insurance scam on her (not exaggerating unfortunately, that was 2 months of lawsuit on them to get them to acquiesce). They left the car outside during Hurricane Wilma, and even moved it over to a NON-hurricane shed.
The shed disintegrated and destroyed her car. Each and every single panel was both scraped and gouged, all lights were trashed, all glass was obliterated and the car became a swimming pool inside (strong door seals to be sure). Unibody had to be replaced, all four doors, hood, trunk, all electrical wiring, all electronics, all electrical motors, most engine parts, all carpeting, all leather, paint, etc etc etc etc etc. Insurance company came and easily called it a total 100% loss just on flood alone, let alone the unbelievable damage. Lauderdale claimed that they would fix it and it would only take $20K on their part. Also, there was the example when a local repair shop I use on my commuter ZX3 took a BMW to Lauderdale and they smashed it up and then claimed that it was preexisting. Cost my little shop $4000 to fix the car for their customer. Then there is Kurt Lorritz, who made the claim to me directly that he didn't know what stochiometric programming is, and he is the Shop Foreman. Heck, I am not even getting into the issues with my last BMW and the electronics on that. Let's just say that my move from the 3 Series to the 1 Series has been a blessing, I love my 135. This is but a handful of the examples. My family purchased 8 BMW's there for the last ten years or so. Yet they threw our loyalty out the window over and over. Again, just the point of them trashing my mother's car, my family just can't get past that. That is just gross gross greed! Braman Service Dept has been measuring the amount of people who used to go to Lauderdale and now go to Braman. Their numbers are growing. The Sales Team really worked to help get me the exact car I wanted, and believe me, I wasn't easy on them. Also, gotta mention this example. I was working on getting my wife a Mini, and I found one online that was really good and really cheap. It turned out to be one of those scams. Of course, I wanted to make sure the real owner of the car was informed, so I went to the Lauderdale dealer. Sure enough, they could look up the owner and they saw his car. However, the Service Manager refused to inform the owner, saying that the dealership didn't like to get involved. When I was at Braman, I asked them if I gave them the VIN, would they at least call/email the owner, and they agreed. Unfortunately, I had lost the VIN, and of course the fake ad was pulled, but just the point is still there. Just example after example with Lauderdale. I will grant that each one of us out there will have different experiences with different cars at different dealerships. My family has been screwed over and had sued them twice. You have had good experiences. My family has had great experience with Braman, and "Pondo" didn't. So I am not trying to discount your experience or anyone else's. I can only tell you what my family has gone through, and for anyone out there who continues to go to Lauderdale, I wish you all the luck in the world. I only offer my advice that Braman has been great to my family, and Lauderdale required lawsuits to take care of both warranty work and to resolve "admitted damage". It is just my "two cents", that's all.

Oh, and on your point of your cars, what year and when did you get them? When I was shopping for my 135, they not only had next to none on the lot of either 2008's/2009's, but they said that they don't like to carry them because there is not a huge market for them in Broward. They pump the 3-series like mad, and of course the 6 Series (it is Broward of course, LOL). I swear, every time I turn a corner, there is another 6 Series, and at least 5 M6's float around the downtown area.
As for the 335i, they had a blue/beige 2008 on the Lauderdale lot that was full load and they were letting it go for only $45K. I contemplated it, but the 135 just called my name. Was that your friend who bought that blue 335i?

To go back to an earlier point of "Are there any BMW Meets in the area", I looked at BMWCCA and there obviously is a chapter here (based out of Palm Beach I guess). Do they actually conduct meets down here? Does anyone go to them?
My wife has a Mini, and there are meets all over the place, very strong car community. It would be nice to see BMW doing the same.
