Michelin PIlot Sport 4S Clock In
Time for replacements all of the way around on my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I got 19K out of them before old Abe's head was wearing the tread for a hat on the rears. No tracking, just highway miles and brisk country drives. I've really enjoyed them, much more than the POS Bridgestone Potenzas that BMW always is trying to sell me.
What are y'all clocking in at? |

I run the Pilot SuperSport (now also called 4S). I'm pretty good at taking care of cars and funny enough I had a slow leak in my right rear for around 3 months, left rear started leaking for around a month and then one day started going down quickly while I was driving to work which happens to be by a tire shop. The tire guy looked under my car and found I had wires sticking out on the inside of both tires. So I guess they had been leaking due to being practically worn thru and I just hadn't gotten down on ground and looked at their insides.
My car is lowered around an inch and I run around 2 deg of camber both front and rear. I think I had 22k miles on those tires. Why not run the PSS4S yourself? Best tires I've ever used IMO.

I'd be curious to hear how long these tires are lasting for people who have square setups and rotate their tires between the front and rear axles. Generally, our customers get surprisingly good life out of these tires but it would be nice to hear numbers from some of the square guys out there.

It's tough to make a blanket recommendation as I would rotate tires that wear faster sooner than harder tire compounds with higher treadwear ratings. Obviously the harder you drive, the sooner you should rotate.
For these Michelins I would rotate once every 5-8000 miles and modify this schedule based on the wear you note during the first rotation. -Tom

I'm at about 3.5/32 all around on square MPS4S. I'll have to pull the receipt from when I got them installed to figure out mileage, will update.

I'm at 17.5k miles on them right now. Might be able to squeeze to 20k. 255/35/18 square on stock wheels (rears on fronts). Rotated them around once. Should probably give them another look and rotate again if necessary. But then again, maybe I'll just get a new set for this summer.
