Replacing CCC/iDrive screen with a tablet? Doable? Or worth purchasing aftermarket?
I'm curious about removing the CCC/iDrive screen and replacing it with a tablet. I was also looking around on alibaba and other websites for replacement head units. There are some that are really cheap ~200. If I ended up replacing it I could go for a higher end model around $450-600.
I would rather replace the entire unit with a tablet if that's at all possible. If I throw a tablet in it's place I'd like to still somehow manage the diagnostics screen, radio, nav can be separate... Searched forums couldnt exactly find what I'm trying to do. Any information/leads to someone that's done this would be greatly appreciated! |

Just buy a 10.25" Snapdragon 625 Headunit with 4/64 GB configuration, black bezel for CCC , they are the latest and greatest.
For further information check the F30 forums, there are some Android threads where most people find together Kri |

There is a Harness adapter calbe which has to be plugged between Car Quadlock and Headunit, if you have MOST you need to move MOST to the adapter so it is connected to the OEM HU again. Kri |
