HELP 550i clutch LUK DMFW doesn't fit.

2011 135i N55 6speed

Clutch started to slip so I decided to upgrade to a 550i clutch and bought a DMFW to go with it. All bought from FCP. Car is at the shop rn and they are saying it does not fit. Exact words are "It doesn't sit properly on the flywheel and is spaced towards the back of the car. The clutch disk will not make contact with the flywheel". That's odd as many people have done this and it says It will fit on multiple websites. FCP did not send out the wrong parts and they confirmed it should fit.

Clutch
Luk # 21207603248
Mfg # 6243584000

Flywheel
Luk # 21207640733
Mfg # 4150502100

I've read that other people have used the LUK-21207542984 DMFW but ECS suggests it doesn't fit due to my car being produced in 11/10.

My car is stuck on a hoist w/ no clutch and it's finally warm here. Anyone have input?

That's what I have. N54 uses an 8 bolt flywheel N55 used a 6 bolt. Flywheel fits but clutch will not sit on the flywheel. FCP overnighted another clutch because we think this one was boxed wrong.

I guess the raised part around the spline (top) is whats pushing it to far back off the flywheel. Bottom clutch is what it's supposed to be. Will update this once I know what went wrong.

Hope the new one fits. Haven't had any issues with FCP sending wrong parts before, but sounds like they helped out by overnighting a new one.

New clutch just arrived. Going to bring it to the shop today, looks to be different than what I originally got. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Car is 100% well 98%, still have to break in the clutch. Not sure what clutch I originally got but it's resolved now.

And that's why you should buy parts from FCP. They have the best customer service, period.

Yes it's great to see them do this. Especially since i'll be ordering the same clutch and flywheel in the near future. Lol

So - the original part #s were correct but they sent the wrong parts?

At the end of the day, someone at LuK/Schaeffler put the wrong stuff in the box. I had a similar issue where they gave me the wrong DMF for my 130i despite me giving them the BMW part numbers to cross reference.

There should be some markings on the clutch disc that would indicate what vehicles it suits

I googled all numbers engraved on it, nothing came up.

Just thinking about this again gives me anxiety 😂

I remember there were some discrepancies when I went this clutch route. DMFW, etc. Here's a snapshot of the parts I received, from a different vendor. 2013 N55 E82 6MT
These all fit perfectly

Did you ever found where the error came from or on what car the wrong clutch is supposed to fit? Just received mine from rockauto and it looks exactly like yours that would not fit

I did not no. I contacted FCP and they sent me a new one overnight and it was in the same box, same part number but it was a different clutch. Not sure how well rockautos customer service is, I'd contact them.
