There is a newer software package just released this month, I was the first at my dealer to get it. Everything is fixed back the way it was and my car is back to giving me the giggles.

From the SA director I finally have some good news for you, after researching for a few days we came across a retrofit programming that was recently release by BMW that specifically deals with power lag after programming. I would like to set up and appointment if we can for the week of the 15th so we can perform this retrofit programming for you. Have a great night!!!!

Can anyone shed any light on this 'newer' improved software update that's supposed to restore the lost power from the previous updates?
A software version number would be great |

I went to dealer for my 30.000km service.
Pull out the JB3 for that. they did a full reflash that took them all the night. My car is now feeling very strong! I just love it like that, smooth, fast,no codes or whatever and loving that "atmo" feeling when reaching the 5000rpm... So I don't feel all those problems/lag you guys do! and I'm very happy with the soft. Needless to say I'm not puting back the JB3 for the moment. Last edited by pi2; 11-08-2010 at 04:35 AM.. |

E89X-10-06-502 I think cars with different options get different versions. When I asked what the numbers mean, the only thing he could tell me was 10-06 means June of 2010. Hope this helps.

I brought my car in to one of the dealer trying to request a software update, but they told me they will only update if there is a recall for it. Not sure if it is different in Canada. And it's a 2011, that might be one of the reason?

For those of you with the new-er software update... besides the lag or no-lag issue... have any of you tired letting some air out of one of your tires - to see IF the dashboard display of the TPMS points to the low tire. ? Perhaps this can be a simply way to tell IF one has the new-er software update?

if you have the old new software complain about the lag like I did and request them to update you to the newest software available, I did and it's made a difference, they also changed my HPFP and I"m happy with both.

are there any updates to the software problem yet?
It's mid July and I was wondering if BMW figured it all out by now. I'm still holding off getting the recall done until I hear it's been fully worked out |

I think it is STILL a problem. Most people who get stuck with the new SW update with the added "turbo lag" are just buying BMW PPK1 sw. Do a search on PPK1 and you will see. This effects N54 and N55's. |
