To be fair, that's 3MY older. If OP doesn't have access to Mannheim auction data, I'd recommend:
  • Getting a price from Carmax. That + $$1000 markup is a very fair price to list it at private party.
  • Search all similar cars w/in 500 miles on Autotrader. Simply posting on this forum we all are probably people more willing to consider shipping a car from 1000's of miles away. However, most people aren't like this and their search universe is 500 miles or even less. The supply and pricing in the immediate area is always the most important. Extreme examples may be a Miata in Wisconsin and Subarus in Arizona being much cheaper than in they were in California and Massachusetts respectively.

I just did a pricing estimate exercise for my 2011 128i; I'd say private party $20k would be a stretch unless you're pricing it high with the intent to negotiate down. Otherwise, $16-19k seems to be the range depending on options, region, and condition. One thing to consider, cars w/ automatics and sunroofs get valued higher in general because those are additional/expensive options. However, there is a sub-market of people who specifically want manual + no roof that will value a car equipped as such just as high as an auto/sunroof car.

Agreed. Higher side of that range would need to be M Sport or a premium/rare color.

Nice car though, looks clean, but $20k is a stretch for sure.
