Just called the BMW 1-800 number because I couldn't track it online and it's in production to be completed Sept. 1. At this point is it an 08 or 09?

When it is in production the recording tell you the completion date. Mine is Sept. 1.

I just called and mine said the estimated production completion date was Sept. 1 as well.

Crap!! I just told my CA that I wanted to make some option changes, I'm guessing it's too late already? I held off from finalizing my options cuz I wanted to confirm the 09 pricing, but it seems like they went ahead with production even before that?

update to my situation: called the dealer this morning and confirmed that my CA actually placed a second order on my behalf with my changes! It's only pushed back 1 week in production as well.

My dealer phoned me this morning to say my car has just gone into production and it will be an 08 build estimated delivery of 22nd Sept. He said the factory wont start building the 09's until 1st October.

Mind you he told me about three weeks ago that it was just going into production. Mix up with the production slots I think

Make of it what you will.

I was told that they are building 2009's starting September 1st.

First delivery of 2009 1ers start in October.

Mine better be a 2009 since that is what I ordered!

I have ordered an 09 with a production date of Sept 2nd. My CA told me yesterday it was in 150 status. I am paying 09 pricing so it better be an 09

Thanks for the suggestion, I asked for my VIN and the tracking works (unlike the production #). I'm week 36, completion date September 3rd. The VIN indicates it is a 09 model, so anything after that should also be 09.

Mine's on the way to port according to the 1-800 number. I still have hope that it'll make its way to the dealer by October 6; that's when I am leaving for vacation. Lousy timing but the car went into production earlier than expected.
