And yes, there is some macpherson camber gain correction in the F8x upright, though I believe there is in the E9xM unit as well. The whole assembly was marginally lighter but I can't remember all the details, I think most of that was due to hub weight.

houtan

Basically boiled down to cheap easy part access for me, got a screaming deal on cleaned up F8x uprights, and then easily using the stock F8x BBK later as I specifically didn't want the E9xM calipers. Pains me enough that my rotors won't match perfectly.
I see. So you are going to use the stock F8x caliper and rotor at some point? Sorry, i am full of questions but i love learning about this stuff and planning what to buy next!

Yeah the plan is to do the full F8x BBK later if I find I need more brakes. Cheapest way to get a true BBK as far as I know. Trying to future proof. The bracket is from Hydra.

I started tearing apart the front suspension today. Along with the M3 spec custom built 3DM Ohlins Road and Track coilovers, the upright needed replacing with F82 M4 parts, and I swapped in a different caliper bracket and all hardware.

After breaking a couple Crapsman tools, and realizing I don't have a Torx not big enough for these F8x hub bolts, I snapped a couple photos to demonstrate the carnage, and to point out a surprising find.

Converting from the E82 nonM knuckles, hardware, and brake caliper brackets to F8x parts and the Hydra Performance E46M3 CSL brake adapter saved about 2 lbs of unsprung weight.

Wow!

Lol patience I didn't get that far.

PS gonna have to get some bungee cords or something, the zip tie holding the caliper failed badly. Luckily I have new SS braided brake lines.

FWIW, I had the HFT assortment and they were crap; one in three would fail tightening them. Threw them out and now I only buy Panduit cable ties. I usually use baling wire to hang calipers, though.

Very nice list. I'm jealous!

When the front rotors are done, these would make fitting replacements:

Some issues with PFC CSL rotors. These are legit. When these wear out once or twice I'm gonna go full F8x BBK.

Not sure if they've been revised but had problems with warping and cracking when heat cycled. To damn expensive for that to be a concern.

Is there a power gain from the n53 ported head? What were the benefits.

Huge airflow benefit. Other similar setups have made ~625whp on 18psi with 93 pump. I don't really care about my numbers, just wanted a quick spooling setup I could run at low boost make good power and never have to worry about ethanol ever again.

I also specifically didn't want to go ST.

Still have the ability to turn it up though or build the block and go nuts. Others out there well north of 800.

Hello, awesome build. I've been trying to source a 1M headliner (slicktop), but can't find the part number on realoem.com. Do you mind sharing the part number?

I think this is it. But I need to confirm with my receipt if I can. Keep in mind, it's spendy. Price on Realoem is not correct. Runs about 1k US shipped
