BUYER BEWARE! Tiny Chainsaw

Buyer Beware! As you can see in the convo I purchased a set of 19" VMR 810 Gunmetal wheels from Tiny Chainsaw. He agreed to a lower price than what he was asking for if I paid the Paypal fees. I agreed and sent the money as a "payment" instead of "for goods". Well he decided to rip me off the $900 and then claim I was scamming him for money cause I only had a few posts which I guess makes it where he can't rip people off (you explain that I dunno). Anyhow I just purchased my 2008 135I and ordered a lot of parts (ask mike@x-ph.com) and decided at the last minute to purchase some wheels but wanted to help a fellow 135I enthusiast out and purchase them used. BIG MISTAKE! I had another forum member message after he wouldn't respond to my messages see if the wheels were still available and ask you can tell by the last photo he was still trying to sell them. I disputed it through Paypal but under their user agreement since I didn't pay "for goods" they couldn't get my money back. So please BUYER BEWARE!

Dispute it as a "for goods" payment anyways through paypal. i did that when some punk kid on VWVortex (MKIV of course) tried scamming me money when I sent the money as "Payment". Paypal froze his account until my money was returned.

Dispute it as "For Goods", exxplain the situation and mention you have e-mails, messages, texts and screenshots as evidence.

What an ***hole.

You can talk to the bank that your paypal account is linked to and have them retract the expense. I made the same mistake as you. Now I just pay the fees.

Wow screw this guy. I hope you paid with a credit card - if so, you can easily dispute the charge. No need to even go through PayPal.

what a prick... I had someone try that with some computer hardware that I ordered a few years ago. PayPal wasn't any help so I contacted the attorney general and had him charged with fraud.

well the member seems like he's been here for a while. Perhaps you can get one of the admins on here to get involved and talk to the guy. Really pretty disappointing when people fuck around with selling stuff.

i bought a set of rims online through a different BMW forum last year for my winter wheels setup. it took ONE MONTH to get them because they seller was a lazy turd who never 'had the time'. Seems like this guy is the same kinda deal......just dead lazy. I eventually got them...

on a side note, you should never have sold your wheels UNTIL you got your new ones. lol.

Keep in mind that doing a chargeback against paypal will most likely mean they close your account and will never do business with you again.

I went through Paypal to dispute it and they said because of the way I paid they could not award the money back to me. That it was outside their user agreement! Keep in mind they opened up a claim and I sent them all this info I just posted and they could see where the money transferred to him. Pretty clear cut that he ripped me off if you ask me.

Do a chargeback or have your bank pull the funds, then if they close the account just set up another one. Hopefully you're married or have a brother/really close friend to make that easier.

I'd rather not lose the $900, but that's me. Good luck. Sorry to hear you ran into a scumbag.

A lot of credit card companies will not let you file a claim since you agreed to the charge in the first place. The will only cover unauthorized charges (made without your knowledge). They will tell you to call pay pal.

I know who I'm seeing when I need parts.

Money you saved being a stand up merchant will easily be repaid when I have parts I need to order. Going straight to you.

Doesn't paypal give you his real name and address? Go to his house and firebomb it.

*Disclaimer* I am using the term "firebomb" as a metaphor - I am not promoting terrorist acts.

No surprises here. It has been clear to me from my past interactions with him that he is a low rent piece of trash.

Mike, thanks man you have been real helpful. I am going to write a big review on your help and the parts I received once I get them all on. The charge pipe got here today. I actually contacted VMR and explained the situation and they helped me out as well....

OP this really really sucks, I wish you the best. I think it's time a local member pays him a visit. Few times I've seen this happen, it's some punk kid who lives at home with mommy. Once you post the seller's personal info, the buyer who got screwed over OR someone local contacts the seller's home directly and sometimes the parents get involved and force the punk to refund.
