Long term effects when replacing just 1 tire?
I recently had a tire blowout. Tire/Wheel warranty replaced it with another stock RFT.
The left rear tire popped just a little after I crossed 20k miles on the original set SA says that the new tire will be balanced with the old one. He also says that because the new tire are on the rear - they won't affect alignment as much. Curious if there are any long term effects that I should worry about if I keep this 3 Old + 1 New tire configuration? |

You might notice it under certain conditions. The old tire will lose grip before the new one so DTC will kick in which will annoy you. If you disable DTC you may enjoy having the rear slide around on you. 20k is pretty good for run craps so I would just toss all of them for real tires. If you don't you'll soon spend considerably more money buying 3 more expensive, mediocre tires.

For daily driving you wont notice much at all if they are around the same tread wear and similar design. I wouldn't recommend keeping it for long if you plan on driving it during bad weather conditions or doing any kind of spirited driving.
