apply ceramic coating on it, protect it even further and will last longer, water just beads off it, you can do it yourself, very easy,

if you know how to proper wash and use an orbital polisher, then you can do it with just $250 for parts, everything else is labor and time

wash, decontaminate with clay bar and iron x spray, dry car

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

polish pads and your favorite polisher I use sonax finisher compound, don't need any hard cutting, just final stage for me because my gt3 is brand new, took me about 2-3 hours to do whole car including taping up all plastics or taking them off

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

then spray and wipe all compounds and oils off with alch/distill water mixture

applying ceramic coating, I did little research and get sonax instead of other brands because i use sonax products on my 1M 8 years ago and like it.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.autogeek.net/sonax-cc36-...c-coating.html

take time watch few tips and such, which is what I did,
I did complete detail and paint correction on the GT3 and clear bra the full front myself, no help lol just take time. Not perfect on the hood, but the full fenders and bumpers is good because took my time.

for you is just final polishing to get fine scratches and minor things, then apply ceramic coating your self, easier than you think.

cost for you would be $300 and few cases of beer
Have that $1400 left over for other mods lol

thanks you, the top pic is the diff on one side i did paint correction on, you can see this is straight from factory after wash and clay bar on left side, and that hard area I did by hand.

The ceramic coating just add more shine and protection, your car looks really good, just do light polishing to take out the minor scratches, then ceramic the whole car. Took me less than 2 hours to apply ceramic the whole car.

Now I just drive lol car is dirty but I know that washing is much easier now.

Enjoy your 1M!

Thanks my friend

Q for you tho....was looking at the Sonax and it states in both places that "Protection lasts for up to 1 year"......so, is this something you apply regularly? i.e. every year?

The quote I received on OptiCoat from the detail shop I used said it will last 7 years and comes with a warranty? I guess these are completely different Ceramic Coatings?

I'm good with doing it myself every year....just curious if that is what you do as well?

They listed as 1-3 years depending how you wash and how often you apply sonax wet shield, back then, when I first got my 1M in 2011, I did a complete detail and wax and apply the sonax wet shield only, didn't do the ceramic coatings, now 7 years later, it still protects and water still beads on most areas. I do apply few times between those years.

That was my main reason I chose the sonax, even tho I know others are guarantee between 5 to 7 yrs. The most important part is how you maintain it after it applied. My 1M is almost 50K miles. Ready to clear bra the whole hood redo some paint correction before I applied the ceramic coating on it. Already washed the GT3 twice after the application and it REALLY make it easier. I don't think its any superior than others, I'm just comfortable with it because I've used the Sonax wet shield and really like it, so I gave it a try on the GT3.

Sounds good!

Thanks for the info

I just dropped a bundle on XPEL.....and the holidays are fast approaching....so, I'm probably going to table the Ceramic Coating till next Spring.

I do need to figure out of the different Ceramic Coatings, which is also recommended to go on top of XPEL with no issue to that 10 year warranty?

I'm in Northern Virginia and so my baby M will be tucked away for the winter in any case.......around here they throw salt down even if there is a 1% chance of snow or ice....lol!

thats a good time to do it, but not too cold, needs to do it in room temp, really easy if you have time, since you are not driving it in the winter, pretty much any ceramic coating can go over the clear bra.
