2009 135is - yes is...
I just realized I can register my 2009 135i(?) on bmw.ca. I was wondering about recall info.
Anyway when I entered my VIN it came up as a 2009 135is. I am assuming this is a mistake but maybe there is an explanation? I attached two pictures; the second has the options list. I was under the impression that the "is" did not come out until the 2013 model. |

No IS prior to 2013 you are right. Wonder why the registration site is borked.

My vin spits my 08 out as a 135is as well using a BMW vin decoder. Real OEM gets it right though, try that

on earlier cars, the 'is' designation was a factory thing to designate that the 135i was equipped with the Sport package/M Sport package. It wasn't used as a separate nameplate/badge.
