Introductions

Greetings everyone,

I've been lurking around for a bit, doing the usual reconnaissance before committing to a purchase. After taking in a lot of great information I found a 2012 Deep Sea Blue 135i that came closest to what I was looking for.

While I will miss the V8 of my B7 S4, I won't miss the impending doom of the timing chain service or the 11mpg I regularly got with my 'spirited' driving.

I am now in the 3rd week of ownership and really enjoying the car. Even though the N55 seems to have some limitations in comparison to the N54 (majority opinion), I'm glad I've got 9 months left on the original BMW warranty and a newer model.

As with previous cars, the personalization is split into the usual categories; exterior, interior and performance. I'm looking forward to building something with a little more power and a little more visual appeal. So far, the tint has been done, the air intake, intake scoops, pedals and shift knob. I'm currently doing the homework on the exhaust and tune... Looking at all the builds in the forums is definitely inspiring.

By the way, with a manufacture date of 5/31/2011 does anyone know if the Cobb Tune will work..?

In any case, I'm looking forward to the miles ahead and getting to know some of the SoCal locals.

Pictures to follow; Nano Skin bath scheduled for this weekend.

Congrats on the car. Cobb should work, just email them with the last 6 or 7 of your vin and they will tell you. I was in the same boat with my 135, but made the cutout (3/2011).

Nothing wrong with the N55! Look into Pure Turbo.

Welcome!

I'm in for the canyon carving also. I'm usually somewhere in the Santa Monica Mountains on weekends, know those roads like the back of my eyelids now.

Some pics, post initial wash

Well, just finished with the wash, Nanoskin and sealant, etc, etc. Here are some pics...

I'm down for some 'get togethers' and 'Canyon Carving'. Looking for opportunities in the Cali sub forum, but haven't seen anything yet. It would be nice to get some real life ideas about installed upgrades especially now that I'm looking for exhaust options.

And yes, Cobb confirmed that I made the cutoff, so the next items on the list are the tune, exhaust and the charge pipe.
