Recieved confirmation on my 2012 1M

I had put a holding deposit down over 1 month ago in the hope that another allocation would be made to Australia.

Just recieved the call this morning stating 100% confirmation for a Jan/Feb build and March/April/May delivery.

Its through Canterbury bmw and I am 1 of only 2 for that dealership.

I had seriously prepared myself that it wasnt going to happen and had my heart set on a 135i, cheaper, less to insure and could be had much much sooner.
135i would be on a 3 yr lease and with the 1M I will have to extend it to 5 years paying more interest but i keep saying it will be worth it due to the rarity and I plan to keep this car for a long time.

It will only be a weekend car so km's will be lept low

Cannot believe I may have to wait upto 7-9 months!

P.S They want me to pay $4000 as another deposit so thats a total of $5000

Gratz!!!!! Well, for the some of us who put a deposit down as soon as it's gone official - 7-9 months is not too long . The 1M keep surprising me still... really need to swap cars with Tim for a bit so that I can feel the difference between a mod 135 and a 1M. Just waiting on the run-in on Friday to fully unleash the beast.

Congratulations!
Agree that waiting is difficult - 6 months, 12months, whatever. Perhaps think of it as a privilege, our 1 series coupe

I don't know how you're getting a production date in 2012 when manufacturing is supposed to end for the 1M in December 2011...

I am keen to catchup with some of the Sydney crew when she arrives. Is that a regular thing that you guys organise?

Also anyone have any info on the M training that comes with the car or any other training i could go on. I have always driven powerfull cars however I would like to learn the limits of myself and the car and get the most out of it without killing me or the car.

I had the M training as part of my previous M3 but didn't realise it comes with the 1M. Does it?

Hey Donald
apart from the phone call have you got any sort of confirmation thats states you have a car allocated and the eta for delivery?
Also what about deposit. I've already paid 1K and dont see why I should have to give them another 4K

Got to seee a 1m in white today at my dealership. All i can say is damm it looks good and has such an agressive stance. Pictures dont do it any justice.

Also Signed my updated purchase contract. Dealer saying mine is one of the first batches (Jan build) for 2012 however the eta on paperwork states May delivery so thats a march build???

Oh well now the wait begins..

P.S There is 1 more allocation free at Canterbury BMW but you better be quick as my guy is showing 2 more people today.

Yes, you Tim . Your car is probably the closest to a 1M than any others with the M3 bits.
