Help with Charge Pipe Installation in Atlanta
Hi guys,
Somewhat desperate here on getting my VRSF charge pipe installed on my BMW 135i with the N55 motor. I've finished most of the work by removing the old plastic pipe, and connecting the sensor into the new one, but I'm having trouble getting proper fitment into the throttle body. I did apply some PTFE Super Lube onto the O ring but still struggling. If there's anyone in Atlanta who is mobile and come by to help me finish the install, I will pay for it. I'm next to Georgia Tech for an idea of where I'm located. Thank you. |

Take the air box off. Just unclip it and unscrew the top half from the rubber boot. The bottom will just pop up. Then you can move the harnesses out of the way and have way better access. With some lub on the o ring you should be good. Then pop the retaining clip on. You are almost there.

I agree, it is much easier if you remove that airbox. I did the exact same install about a month ago and it slid right on with the o-ring in place, no issue. FYI, make sure you tighten the Two plugged 1/8″ NPT bungs, mine were loose. I put some loctite on them and tightened them down. One is really tough to get to on the bottom once you install that charge pipe, and you don't want to have to pull it all out again.
