Any upcoming facelifts for the 1?

Has anyone heard or read about upcoming facelifts for the 1-series ?

I haven't, but I'm just wondering when BMW might come up with the usual mid life-cycle facelift for the E82 and E87.

from what I heard a new headlight facelift is in place for 2011( bye bye orange reflectors , hello LEDs) followed by a slightly redesigned 2012 model that will have the new 4 cylinder

You'll notice the trend is to facelift with LED headlight and tailight components. That's a given.

The car came out March 08, its only april 09 now. So even though the car is going to be a model year 2010, its only been on the market for 1.5 years, I can't see it getting a face lift already. Perhaps the 2011 model.

Thats what I was thinking as well. I wonder if they would mess with the sagging door line? I'm guessing white corona rings up front and a different LED scheme out back.

The 1 Series (E87) was introduced in September 2004.

2007 was the refresh, and also brought the E81 3-door hatch.

The Coupe/Convertible (E82/E88) models also came in June 2007 (Europe) and Nov 2007 (US).

The replacement will likely appear in fall 2011 as a 2012 model. Series code name F20.

It is possible that the coupe will follow one year later (like we get with the 3 series rollouts).

If by 'came' you mean was introduced at a car show because the soonest anyone had a 1 series in their driveway was mid March 08 (in the U.S.), and they likely ordered it in December to get it there by March.

My bad, thanks for the catch. The Coupe was introduced in Europe in Nov 2007. It was not available in the US until mid-March 2008 as you have indicated.

My point was more to the OP, that the 1er facelift has already happened.

BMW usually does a couple "face lifts" before a new model comes.
The E46 came in 99/00, there was a face lift for 2003, then a new model in 2006, 2007 model year, called E90. E90 got a face lift this year for 2009 after 3.5 yrs.

I hope they change the headlights a bit and make the "arrow head", where the turn signals are, more subtle.
A dual exhaust would also be VERY welcome.

I hope the anticipated LED turn signals in the headlights are retrofittable (is that even a word?) to the '08 models.
