I have to believe this is the reason for my cylinder 1 misfire.. rust on coil




Planning to order a new set of coils, the spark plugs are new so I am assuming its not the spark plug.

That looks pretty normal. Move the coil to a different cylinder and see if the misfire follows.

Swapped the coils today and it ran just fine and the code hasn't come back yet. I'll give it a few days of driving and see what happens.

That rust is cosmetic, very unlikely that's the direct cause of a misfire. However, rust may be an indication of old worn out coils which may indeed cause a misfire.
