Limp Mode Warning Light
Had a little drama on a long drive I took yesterday. About 200 miles into a 250 mile spirited drive. I got the yellow limp mode engine warning light. Pulled over and shut the engine down, let it sit for a few minutes and restarted, no light. Car never seemed to go into reduced power mode and ran fine for the whole trip.
Got my Carly for BMW reader out this morning, and it looks like it threw 3 codes: Fuel pump 002AAF Boost pressure control 2 0030FF Long and or infrequent unlocks 00D691 (this last one has to do with phone connection so not concerned) I already had the HPFP recall replacement a few years ago. I know this could have been a phantom as the car was always fine, and did not erase the codes so my mechanic can weigh in when I take in for oil change soon. But anybody seen anything like this with the new HPFP installed? Also, got a message on the Carly App that can't read out Freeze Frame data (whatever that is) and I need a new adapter. Just got that thing less than a year ago and it's already obsolete, not too happy about that. |

I don't think this is relayed to your HPFP. Do you have aftermarket software installed on the vehicle? Tampering could throw codes like these at random.
Otherwise, check the vacuum lines coming from the vacuum reservoirs. They run across the valve cover and down the front of the intake manifold. |

I'll check the vacuum lines, but would think the warning would stay lit if something was loose. Thanks |
