Window fell in door!
My drivers side fell in my door as I went to open it with comfort access.
If my regulator failed will I be able to prop the window up while I order a new one? Also I have my windows coded to go down with the fob will I have to recode if I get a new regulator or not? Also someone had a great DIY on how to replace the regulator and the pictures are all gone! Can someone update? Much appreciated! |

Just as an update the regulator failed.
Opened up the door to pull up the glass and it wouldn't budge. Had to cut the steel wires in order to tape up the window until the new regulator gets here. Just thought it might help out someone who needs to pull their glass up and is stuck like I was. |

I just did this last month. It is very simple with one issue, the 2 retaining bolts holding the window to the regulator. They are tight and need to be removed from behind the window.
If you know anyone that rides motorcycles, borrow a spanner wrench for adjusting rear shock preload. I used one from my bike, and it fit the cogged bolts almost perfectly. Greatly simplified the job. Just be very careful not to slip. After the window is in raise it up with the switch and hold it for 5 seconds, lower it and hold for 5, the raise and hold for 5. That should reset the limits. Do not overwork the motor though, I almost burnt mine out raising and lowering it checking alignment. It is not designed for continuous use. There are 4 mounting points for the regulator, 3 mounting bolts for the motor, and I removed the plastic part the rear of the motor mounts into. It's all super straight forward. |
