No, i't cannot. I rescently spoke with GRUPPEM and they have a N54 135i version being developed as we speak. i have one on my 335i. Incredible intake with the BEST quality carbon fibre you will ever see, but VERY VERY expensive. I paid $2150, but i have it shipped EMS too... |

It's a real nice piece, but it your on A BUDGET with your 1, don't buy it, it's not "the best bang for the buck>' |

That being said I'm guessing it'll be a CAI for the 135...If so, since it seems more of an airbox design will it still be vulnerable to hydro locking? How's the experience with yours?

Not if you're buying it for looks. It looks a hell of a lot better than stock plastic setup.

It appears to draw air from the same location in front of the radiator as the stock setup. The only way to hydrolock is if you're in water up to the bmw hood emblem.

That's whay I'm say'in. So the incoming air is 20 degrees hotter than a true CAI. It still gets compressed and runs up against a turbo that's hundreds of degrees hotter. It's a different story for a NA car.

You might have to be careful when washing it... not to directly shoot water into the front vents... it might spray up into the intake. Seems like it would be hard to do.... but still possible. |

Just found these pics from the Gruppe M website:
This looks like the only solution for those of us looking for a cold air intake without having an exposed pod filter. Don't get be wrong, I'm all for sound but it has to be the right type of sound. All the vids of these exposed pod filter setups make the car sound like a cheap jap turbo car - I've already been there and done that... It'll be interesting to see what Riss Racing come up with - hopefully they put something together that will give some good gains without the ricer sounds. |
