Giant Merged Commemorative Book & Certificate of Authenticity Thread

Has anyone received their Commemorative Certificate of Authenticity along with a book and something else that suppose to come with the first year build for 2008? I am still waiting for mine. Just wondering what really comes in the package and if it actually tells you what number your car was built.

I asked my SA when I was closing my deal and he had never heard about any book or certificate at all...and he's sold like 75% of the 1s at the dealership!! He said he'd look into it though...let's hope he finds GOOD NEWS!:iono:

...maybe it was all :bs:??

oh..btw...no extra cup holder for me..but no part #442 listed either! haha...my SA laughed for a few good minutes when I explained why some do and some don't have em...haha...gotta love 1addicts.com!!!!

I got my car March 29, 2008. I'll keep you all posted if I get it soon. I did call CR and they said it should come after you get a welcome kit from BMW that has some DVD and CDs.

When I emailed BMWNA about this they said it should arrive 6 - 8 weeks after delivery - i got my car 3/29 as well and still have not received the book.

I did get my welcome kit 2day...some CD's and a DVD, a little book and a plastic card with important numbers on it. Yay....

That's just the welcome kit though. There should be another package for the certificate. I got my welcome kit 2 weeks ago too.

just got a welcome package that was printed in 2006. weak. the 1 series isn't even mentioned anywher. the coffeetable books describe all of the internal E classification for all models current to 2006 in NA - no 1 series.

Wow that's pretty lame. Seems to me a company like BMW could afford to update their packet more than once every two years..

They still have it listed on the BMW USA site so I would hope that it means we are still going to get it.

Couple weeks ago, received a package which included a boxed set of six DVD's, one DVD focusing on BMW and the 1, five more DVD's containing interviews with a slew of self-proclaimed philosopher-types ranging from a poet to Al Gore.

Also included are two booklets, one hard-cover, one soft-cover, both extolling the virtues of all things BMW.

I called CR yesterday and they looked my info up and said it was sent in US mail this past Monday and that I should expect it this Monday. Well see. I'll let you all know if t comes. They said it usually gets sent out 2 to 3 weeks after you receive the welcome pack first.

What is this? I've never heard of such a benefit! Do we get something mailed to us automatically?...or do we have to ask from the dealer?
