Most likely it will be over written but then they will just download the tune again. That is what has happened to those who's Dinan tunes got overwritten.

I'm getting mine installed on Wed. of this week. I will report back how it goes. Dealer worked with me on the price, $685.00 installed plus tax, maybe less if the software update only takes an hour.

Cool. Please do. Looking forward to hearing what you think.

Big question: will turbo lag be eliminated as some other tunes have managed?

How much of a power bump does the N63 get in the X6?

I must be weird but I like the sticker and the extra "Burble" exhaust option more than the extra power. What is an extra 20 hp when you have 300?

I will be doing it next week for the aforementioned reasons plus the hope that I get back some of the lost response after a few previous updates.

That's hilarious

You're spending $700+ for a sticker and an exhaust burble that already occurs with this car with pretty much any quality catback exhaust...

If i was to do it, itd be for the increase in low rpm torque, zero warranty issues, smooth BMW tuning with no worries bout codes, misfires, etc.

I doesn't matter, all of them come free with the sticker.

You know I kid. I swore I wouldnt really spend my time fiddling under my bonnet when I bought the 135 (as I never do), this is perfect for me as I can spend more time trolling here and still have a bit extra low down grunt.

(More because I moved into the 21st century with an AT)

I'm looking todo mine soon but I asked my dealer and they don't know anything about the special pricing. How did your dealer find the information? Is there something I have to tell them? I'm seriously considering doing this but not at the unreduced price. Please get back to me with the info. Thanks.

I just called the dealer, gave them the part number, and they called BMW to confirm the special pricing. Apparently something happened with their software download, so it might be Thurs. now before this gets done.

I called 4 different dealers. 3 out of 4 had no clue what I was talking about and had to dig. They also gave me 4 diff prices for the install. I got $273, $250, $195, and $177. If anybody will charge only $80 for labor, I say get it in writing!

I'll get mine next month after I hear the reviews.

I got my dealer to discount the price of the part (software) down from $599. I assume they knocked about $100 off (they kinda owned me a favor). The service bulletin states installation should only be an hour, but dealers always pad this to cover themselves and make some extra $$$. My dealer quoted two hours labor, but will only charge me for the one hour if that's what it takes.

Yeah, I'm getting the same "huh???" from my Dealer. It seems BMWNA does not do a very good job of communicating these little specials to them.
Interesting thing is when they finally did quote me, they said I needed to replace my spark plugs to do this, which is an additional $240 parts and labor. I'm like, your kidding right?

I think you only need to replace your all spark if you have more than 45k miles.

Or if your build date is before 3/09. Just got that from the dealer.

You hit the nail right on the head, that's why I got purchased the tune.

The reviews are already out there, this is just a resell of the previous PPK, but now with the option of doing software only. Any previous review of the PPK still applies.

Some threads...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=582730
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ance+power+kit
etc etc.

The tune makes a difference; I could definitely feel an increase in throttle response and a slight change in pull at certain speeds. If you don't care about your warranty and just want raw power you'll prefer a COBB/JBC/Dinan/GIAC tune, I'd think.

This tune was a safe way to up the performance of the car and keep my warranty...I did it back in May before the special pricing and the software only option - the additional hardware (auxilliary cooler, better fan, etc) certainly DOES make a difference as well.

In for dyno results. Curious to see the real numbers, compared to other options, since BMW was already conservative on the stock numbers.
