Everyone's situation is different. It shouldn't matter how much anyone else is paying, only how much you can afford to pay per month based on your individual circumstances. There are many choices of financing available from BMW, Banks, Credit Unions, loan and credit companies. You can increae the term to keep payments lower, and the more security you can offer will dictate the interest rate.

Most people who have leased or borrowed are likely paying between $500 and $1,200 per month. But there are so many factors involved it is hard to say what that number really means.

In today's international credit crunch it may be harder to get a car loan if your credit ranking is low.

If you throw all your numbers on a spreadsheet (or go old school and use a calculator) and add up

Money Down
Monthly Payment X # of months
Payment at end (ie: lease buyout, or Owner's Choice "bubble")

You will find the Total Cost of Ownership is pretty much the same. Money costs the same everywhere, it then becomes a question of what you are comfortable with, your tax/employer situation, etc.

$634.26/mo over the next 60months. I pay an extra 2k per month to the principal while I am here in the desert though, so my payments will take considerably less time than 5 years.

350 chickens, 12 cases of beer, and I have to bring a "package" from Tijuana to San Diego every other weekend. That's my monthly payment. My bank is a little weird, ya know how those credit unions can be.

Kunibmw has 2.9% for 60mo deal. I'd have to borrow about $32K as well. that will be about $175/mo more than what I am paying for my mcs now.

2.9% is for conv only...oh well.

Writing a check for the full amount tomorrow!

And feeling fortunate to be able to do that, these days.

I may post a few pics if anyone's interested. Likewise some observations after a few days' driving, and any questions I may have.

Well, I considered financing earlier in the year ya know find a 4.9% loan somewhere or use a HELOC and then putting that cash to work in the stock market where everyone says you can make an easy 10-20% on your money. You know, the same people who tell you to never pay off your house due to the opportunity loss from not having your $$$ in the stock market.

Anyway, happily and appreciatively wrote a check (and 5k on a credit card - max they'd go).

6 months later, with the market crashing 25%+, I feel pretty good about my "investment" in my BMW.
