Side mirror won't tilt when in Reverse

When I put my car into Reverse the side mirror does not tilt down and face towards the gutter like it normally does. It has only started happening today. I've driven my car a few times since then and it's still the same way. Anyone know how to fix?

Ditto again.

And, of course, by switching the position of the left/right button... you have the option of NOT having the mirror tilt when you need it to retain its set position.

I didn't know that my car had that option and at the beginning I had that same problem and thought my mirrors has a malfunction until I discovered that the right mirror reverse tilting depends on the right / left switch. I didn't even know that my car has the Folding mirrors option! great feature indeed.

On the driver's door set there is a round switch that can toggle "left" or "right". If you examine it under light it has a groove that indicates it is not to be pushed from the top but from the sides. This is the toggle that allows you adjust either the left or right mirror. When the toggle is set to the right mirror (which is the one that tilts, at least in NA cars) the mirror will not tilt when put in reverse. If you toggle the switch back to the left mirror the right mirror will again tilt downwards when put in reverse. Hope that helps.

No in the US, it should be standard. It is atleast in my 2010.

Just make sure you mirror switch is set for driver not passenger. It will only move when your car is in reverse.

If you have electric seats, the two seat buttons can also be used to manually control the passenger side mirror, i.e. tilt, pan, etc. =)

WTF, really! Thought that was an option. Sure it's not just on the 2010's? Don't ever remember seeing that in the manual.

It is shown as an option in the '08 manual. I believe it was only included with the power seats.

Must have been changed for 2010.

The tilting side mirror is standard in all cars with electric folding mirrors, in Europe this is an option, so won't work in cars without this option.
