That looks horrible. Like an 80īs amateur aftermarket stereo install. It takes up way too much trunk space, the speaker is not even protected if you do want to use the rest of the trunk space. And you even retain the logic 7, which while very good for a factory setup, is far inferior to what you can achieve with truely excellent aftermarket speakers.

No, sorry, Iīm not impressed

not worth the space. i must agree it is much too big of a box! if you looking for some real quality go with autiobahn anyways. you could of hid the sub in the back corner of the trunk, or with the space you wasted you coulda fit 4 subs. in my 1991 jetta i have a 1500 watt sub and it much smaller then that, and believe me its LOUD!

that is a big box for a 10" sub. i think you need to have the correct box e to have your sub to sound properly. its ok, but i wouldnt pay for it. how much did it cost you??

It does take up a lot space in the trunk but it looks like a decent install. Some people don't want to give up that space, but there are still lot's that do. Congrats!

WOW. Some of you guys are just PLAIN ASSHOLES. jesus christ, what is
wrong with all these "I-got-my-thumb-up-my-ass" BMW owners?
I thought BMW boards will be much more mature than this.

Install looks very decent, and yes, you did eat up all the trunk space
and don't know which 10" sub that is, box might be a little too big.
but hey, if you don't need the trunk space, like the way it looks and sounds,
thats all it matters.

Don't worry about all the assholes in this thread.

btw, factory headunit capable of adding seperate subs/amps and still maintain
logic 7?

thanks lux.sh

yes for me i don't need the trunk space for now, maybe in the future. I want to maximize the power of my subs that is why i sacrificed a little bit in my trunk space.

by using "audiocontrol",you could hook up a seperate amplifier for your subs while keeping your stock deck and speakers and logic 7, thats the pretty of it. I really wanted to keep the stock look, plus the logic 7 and speakers sounds at par for me.

DDaudio subwoofers and amps are really great for sound quality and produces smooth, clean bass. You'll love 'em when you had a chance to hear their system.

Stating an opinion, especially when asked for does not make anyone an asshole. Not respecting other peoples opinions though does.

I personally wouldn't make such a modification because I'm not that much into music, I don't even own an ipod. But I understand people's obsession with music and sound modification although I can't imagine losing that much trunk space. Where would I put my golf bags???

Yeah, I noticed alot of cocky BMW owners in bimmer boards
say that alot. "stating an opinion." yeah well, insulting and stupid
comments doesn't have to be everywhere, it just makes this
board look immature. No different than rice honda boards.

Would you like to see people "Stating an opinion" to you,
when you got your brand new car and they just totally put down
your car? or I don't know, you got an award and people are just
saying its bullsh1t. How would you like that?

Like what you said, "not respecting other opinions though does",
not respecting other people's work is just as ignorant and stupid
as not respecting other opinions.

and it wasn't even really an opinion, it was just bunch of
ignorant assholes in this thread just having fun criticizing.
I guess there are alot of 16 yrs old kids in BMW boards too.

oh, and "im stating my opinion" here too, so don't flame me.

Donīt worry, Iīm not going to flame.

While I agree that my wording might have been a little inappropriate I stand by my opinion. I think thatīs a really bad stereo install. And Iīve seen many. Iīve done many in fact.
And Iīve posted my car, itīs interior, my stereo setup, aftermarket rear lights and other things and have invited opinions on them and have gotten the full range of answers. From a non-critical thumbs-up from the (as long as itīs different from stock itīs great - crowd) to comments very similar to those I stated here. Theyīre all fine with me and welcome. Iīd rather have someone to be honest than polite. As long as itīs on the subject and not personal, I believe it should be welcomed. Isnīt that what these boards are for ? Sharing knowledge and opinions?
Or do people post here solely looking for uncritical applause? If so, Iīm on the wrong forum.

BTW, I do respect the work shown here. Itīs solid and cleanly done. Itīs the concept that seems amateurish (especially for a pro install). Using so much trunk space for a single woofer is plain silly (a transmission line box in the trunk of a sedan is even sillier). The woofer itself is clearly a show-woofer manufatured for looks and marketing but not for sound quality (that huge magnet is not there for acoustical reasons but purely for show) and the integration into the (in the context of expensive aftermarket installs) mediocre Logic 7 system seems half-hearted.

DD subs are one of the best... that is a really good choice...

but I think if you want sound quality and go with the factory logic system you do not need a powerful sub like driven with over 1000 watt rms... that sub will be too powerful with the factory system... you must upgrade the other speakers and should buy powerful, nice, and expensive ones...

For me best is to use a sub with built in amplifier, they occupy very small space and can sound good... infinity has a sub like that like 200 watt rms and very small... I do not exactly remember the model...

For the design, I must say I did not like... you should need a small box for sound quality... my friend has a competetion box that seems like your box (ported and big...)

anyway, dd subs are great! you will again and again modify the system after some time...

Agreed and glad we both understand each other. I apologize if I
sounded a little offensive.

Tierfreund, how many IASCA world finals have you been to? The installer has been to 5 to date and several of his installs have made it that far as well.

The box is 1.5 cu. ft. On the larger side of enclosures, but delivers close to 140dB of pure, clean bass. Let's see your Autiobahn do that. If you meant Audiobahn, then unfortunately, you're sorely mistaken. Audiobahn is not a high end company and does not make high end audio.

There are trim panels to cosmetically blend the system with the vehicle. It adds cosmetical flair and functionality by hiding all the unusable areas between the box and trunk. The box is not as big as it looks.

If most of you guys are in Europe, do a search for Digital Designs and see how they're doing in the competition realm of mobile electronics...
