+1 well put...seal the deal in writing was supposed to be my point...and then the navy chimed in. lesson learned.

Sucks, sucks, sucks.....maybe you can find an open allotment somewhere else, you can have a car purchased elsewhere shipped to another local CA dealer, if your dealer had any principals he'd cancel the other deal, or at a minimum try finding you another car through BMW of NA.

I still find the whole idea of any BMW dealership letting a 1M go for less than MSRP! It just doesn't make good buisiness sense!

But back in May when the OP initially contacted the dealership, the 1M supply/demand ratio wasn't as fubared as it is now, right?

when the first orders were going in there were dealers giving $1k-$2k off. One of my friends got a 1M from a dealer for $2500 off including the usa drive event b.c he was on a list since last october. One of the first to get his car too.

Always get it in writing. Anything, everything, every time. Humans are inherently greedy (let alone someone in sales) and without a contract you're screwed. No amount of time in court will get you a 1M that you weren't contracted to receive. No bad press will get them another allocation. Anything past searching for another car is just revenge. You're certainly entitled to it and I can't say I'd be above doing it myself but your time may be better spent searching for another 1M.

I love that they said they "sold" the car, but would be willing to "unsell" it for $10K over. I'm sure they didn't really sell it, but if they did, it's just further evidence of how sleazy they are - they're openly admitting to being willing to screw someone else. Human nature - gotta love it.
