Sorry about taking so long to get you the photo. We're swamped like crazy with race season starting for us as well as many of our customers we support at the track. Couldn't find time to hunt down the camera, take pictures, upload and then e-mail. If finally realized I had an iphone and could just take a picture and e-mail it. Doh.

The reason why there are 2 versions and why we didn't just ditch the short design and go with the long one is because our FMICs come with pipping too. In our FMIC kits, the piping replaces the elbow. Thus, the charge pipe was a direct replacement of the old piece. With the 2009+, that wouldn't work anymore due to the integrated elbow. If you have a 2006-08 model, you can run the 09+ charge pipe. The only thing is if you did not have our FMIC and wanted to order it later, you would need to order the 09+ FMIC model so your piping would match up.

I'm leaning towards this new version because I want meth bungs and I've been told the best place is in the elbow for atomisation and heat absorption rather than in the charge pipe itself because it's too close to the throttle body. I could get the normal ER CP with the AR elbow or Coolingmist eblow but this design looks a lot cleaner and because I'm getting it anodized it should be very stealth. I also think replacing the stock elbow is just replacing another weak point in the car where a leak might occur. I have no plans to run meth at this point but I'm getting 2 bungs in the elbow anyway.
Wow...that's some dedication to putting on a part hehe.

BTW, thanks for the kind replies.

Forge Dv's and ER charge pipe with rubber elbow.

On the charge pipe, rubber elbow front bung or rear bung for the Dvs'??? Middle of install and no pics seem to show the placement.

Not sure if I understand your question. The bungs are for meth injection.

the dv inputs lol

the spots where the dv's hook to the charge pipe... does the rubber elbow go on the one closest to the maf or to the intercooler pipe?

rubber elbow placement

i know the pic on the first page shows the elbow on the one closest to the intercooler pipe but mine doesn't have that little nut inbetween. so just curious if it is crucial or preference because on mine it looks like the elbow should go on the spot closest to the maf...

While I've been necro'ing old threads, this one rises from the grave.

Anyone who's installed this charge-pipe and BOV running rich? How is it holding up for you?

If it blew off from the bottom the clamp/elbow were not tightened enough.

i had it installed for 4 weeks with just the jb4 and dp's and nothing ever happened wuth going wot plenty of times, i was thinking adding the race flash yesterday and bumping up my e85 percentage to e40 and map 5 caused a little extra pressure. i cant tighten it too much as the bottom hose from the IC is plastic. i was also surprised how much the CP can move without that bolt, thats why i will pull it all apart this week and reinstall. i have a 2010 135i so its the longer CP. i just dont know what i did with the bolt. it was a long day when i installed it, i did the DPs in the morning and in the afternoon i did the CP.
