JB+ Advice

n54 here. Out of warranty. Car is stock except for n55 mids and BMW performance exhaust. Looking to add a little more power for a little bit more fun. I don't want to add so much power where I need to start beefing up other parts. Is the JB+ the way to go? Will I be safe with just keeping stock charge pipe, intercooler, etc...?

Have u thought about going catless? It will give u more power but not as much as a tune. In my opinion if u running higher boost I would do charge pipe also. People on here will tell u they are running high psi on stock chargepipe and diverters and have no problem. But others break and leak on stock boost. It's really hit or miss on chargepipe

I rather do a tune so I don't have to deal with emissions problems with running catless. Thanks for the advice about the chargepipe / dv. It's not that expensive so I might just upgrade that to be on the safe side. But then again, is the 135is (and people w/ ppk) running higher boost on the same chargepipe and dv we have? Or do the 135is have different chargepipe and dv?

Just go JB4. It's so worth it.

I have been using my buddies JB+ for two days now , just running around 11.6 and its absolutely killer. On the other hand , my friend who i am borrowing it from has his car in the shop right now from a cracked charge pipe due to to much boost. He has a 335. I am currently saving up for the JB4 and I suggest you do the same, I dont really have a say in what you should do because of my short time running the JB+ but I have it set too around map 1 of the JB4 and I feel like, saving up and having the option to go higher maps and have fun with dci, downpipes, and exhaust to push map 2 and possible meth, would be a great option to have. Thats just my 2 cents

Spend the extra $$ and get the JB4, no doubt. While the JB+ is good, in the end you'll want the JB4.

You can buy one used for a bit cheaper that retail.

N55 here. I had a JB4 for a couple of months always on map1. After a few weeks I upgraded it to the ISO 5_3 and it was so much better then it came out of the box but still didnt like it. Then I sold it and with the money I bought DP. I couldn't be happier.

Last month I added the Jb+ to my 08 that I bought new 6 years ago. I too just wanted a little more power and this fits the bill. I plan to keep the car for a lot longer so added the ER sports oil cooler, Wagner Evo 1 Comp intercooler, AFE enclosed intake and ER charge pipe keeping the stock diverter valves. Already had the Performance Exhaust. Probably the only thing you need from what I listed above is the oil cooler. I live in Mississippi where it gets really hot and would see oil temps at 250 with just regular highway driving in the summer. The new oil cooler keeps it at 235-240 which I think will extend engine life.

For most power
get a jb4 + catless Dp + intercooler
Charge pipe will not add power but if you keep your stock one it will eventually fail.

For people that have DPs. How does that affect your emmissions? Does it make your car run louder too?
