N54 old vs new turbos

If you've had new turbos replaced under warranty were you given a new updated version or just the same failure prone ones? I heard somewhere they fixed the waste gate issues but I can't find anything official on it.

I'm 99% certain the new turbos have updated wastegate arms and actuators.

this is correct, although to my knowledge there isn't a new part number for the actuators only.

Part #'s are different, the core is updated along with the waste gate and actuators. The housing is the same.
