-> Disabled Cold Start Low Beam Bulb Check
(Hopefully stop the bulb warnings after installing LEDs into the DEPO aftermarket headlights)

ECU Module: Kombi
-> Enabled Digital Speed

Won't know if the bulb check disable worked till I do a proper cold start tomorrow,
but pretty happy overall.

You don't see a lot of 135i owners talking about coding,
so I wanted to share this experience and offer basic assistance to anyone considering coding their car

Theres a lot of things you can do, a few below in case you're interested
* Euro Corner Delete
* Digital Speedometer on Cluster
* Roll up the window while holding lock on remote
* Eliminating the ignition key dong
* Folding mirror while holding lock on remote
* Eliminating iDrive accept message on pre 09 units.
* Unlock doors when car is turned off... No more double pull on handle needed!

cheers

LOL edit: semi cold start just now and the bulb errors still there
Think I missed the correct bulb check in config
can someone advise?

below are all the KALTUEBERWACHUNG (cold bulb monitor) from my NFRM module trace file
I bought a M3 instrument cluster and I have to code it with my 135i. Any tips or advice?

One thing is... that who ever codes you car should do is... first save the OE codes... before you change anything. That way you can reload the old files - incase something doesn't work.

Also... IF you ever have your SW updated... this will wipe out any coding and put you car back to OE specs/configeration.

Dackel
I just emailed the contact guy for the coding, hopefully there's something he can do. I bought an M3 E9x instrument cluster and want it coded to my 135. Hopefully he doesn't mind doing it remotely.

No problem. Some sites won't let you posts links to certain other sites for some reason.

I have 2 light warnings stuck on and cant remove. We recoded back to stock, i scanned with BT tool and cant remove them. I also have a service reminder light for my radiator which is set for 1/2001 (car wasnt even alive).

We have no idea why this happened, my battery was low and i had to jump it earlier that day prior to coding and shortly afterwards, but something didn't go right. Having to go to the dealer to do ecu reset.

We speculate that it could be the low battery voltage or just wrong software. Using the same software from Coding Success on e90 post.
I don't know how I ended up in the 1addicts forum..

But If you are still having issues I will explain why. You tried to program your car with older files (the ones on the computer you tried to code with) and your car was programed with newer files from the factory or last dealer software update.

All you need to do is find the newer files (called Daten files) for the e90 and use them to code your car. Yes e90 will work with yours since most of the modules are identical. The latest version out there is V41 or v42 (v is for version).

Once you have those, there is a specific way you need to update your computer. Follow instructions here http://************/3pl54k3

Then code your car with a blank .MAN file and you will be back to normal and can code what ever you like from there.

I can't find the link but search google for v41 daten files. The entire file is like 40 gigs or something huge. The part you need for the E90 is only about 1 or 2 gigs.

Hope that helps.

I have NCSExpert and a BMW Dcan cable for my 1 Series. Things I have managed to code so far...
- Comfort opening of the roof with key fob (That took an act of god... still can't make it close due to restrictions in the US market.)
- Comfort Key eject and door unlock (press and hold the start button to turn the engine off, eject the key, and unlock doors/trunk/fuel door)
- BC menu for auto headlight sensitivity
- BC display for digital speedometer
- disable speed correction for digital and analog speedometer. (Now it feels like everyone in DC is speeding!)
- automatic mirror folding when using the key to lock/unlock the car. Unfold works when unlocking with the fob

Things I am going to test today
- angel eye drls with taillights off
- angel eye and rear fog welcome lights that come on gradually with no other lights active
- brighter angel eyes

PM me for additional info on coding.

Thanks for your report.
I'm very interested in the bold item.
I have Comfort Access. I don't need to plug the key in, so there's no need to eject. Do you know if I just press and hold the Start button, will the doors unlock when the engine turns off?

And where did you get your NCSExpert and a BMW Dcan cable?

I wonder why there isn't an E82 file floating around anywhere? Makes sense that using the daten for E90 would work since they're so similar, but still. Hmm. In any case, I'll be giving this a shot as soon as my cable arrives. Very excited.

BMW probably swapped NCS expert for another software to read/write config

Unhappy

I got this cable from eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Inpa-K-C...24963514720151

Installed INPA / NCSExpert as per beginners DIY and am running into intermitten IFH-0003 data transmission errors.

The car is a 6/2008 built 135i.
I've Google'd up and down the Internet and can't find a solution.

Latency is 1, FiFo's are enabled, used the tool to put cable in D-CAN mode etc. etc. Still the same. 2 black dots in INPA, NCSExpert can read the VIN etc. but as soon as I try to read the CAS module for example, I end up with IFH-0003 after a while.

Any ideas?
