2009 128i Manual with Sport Package

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 13,000.00

Item Interest
I'm selling my 09 manual 128i.It has 99k miles. As you know manual 128i's are hard to find and are desirable due to its size and reliable n51 motor. This car is a great driving car and needs nothing. Its stock with the exception of a strut bar, K&N filter, and wheels.
I'm located in the Sacramento , CA area.

Pro's:
-Clean
-Has sport package

Cons:
-A minor accident where the fender was replaced by PO
-Tear on the left side of driver's seat (in one of the pictures)
-TPMS light on due to aftermarket wheels not having the sensor
-Small nick on windshield (not that bad)

VIN and mileage would be helpful for prospective buyers.

Being able to actually read the window sticker would help, too!

Your "tear" in the seat panel is because by 2009 BMW had done away with full-leather interior, apparently, and the side panels were made of synthetic leather (vinyl) that simply doesn't hold up as well as even neglected leather. I thought it happened later than 2009 since my wife's 2008 was full-leather and my 2013 is not, but I guess we can use your production date as a data point. Yours was obviously already repaired but—also obviously—not very effectively.

Carefully entering a sport seat by putting your butt in first and feet second, and reversing it for exit, is about your only hope in keeping that dreaded crack from forming in the driver's bolster. It's also easier on your back!

And, in case you didn't know, TPM sensors are a separate part that can be fitted to any wheel. Ask any tire store.

Not to muddy up this guy's sales thread, but I think you're just mixing up the "leatherette" base seats with "boston leather" upgrade option. Both were available until the final 2013 model year.

You can identify the full/real leather upholstery by the stitching in the side bolsters like this:

You are correct that his seats aren't leather at all. I thought the change to partial leather was 2010, not 2009 anyway. I always look at the door panel insert to see if it has stitching which is the tell for leather option.

Since we can't clearly see either the OP's door panels or his full window sticker, I assumed the option price listed at the top was for Leather. Must have been for Sport Package. Now that I'm looking again, I can barely make out the driver's door non-stitched insert panel. Regardless, it's a substandard repair to a typical sport-seat issue.

Thanks for the correction! Carry on with the sale.
