No problem at all. I didn't answer your questions sorry about that!

I drove the 135i around quite a bit, although it felt stronger...the point of the DV's is to hold boost more reliable. Its not as much of a power adder as a power "helper" If you have a tune this is a very important mod. In regards to reliable performance. Sound is not its purpose, it is an added perk.

They would work great together. Many people will be running this type of setup. The DV's are stronger than stock so they will hold more boost. You won't have the leaks like some stock DV's have. You don't want any boost spikes/creep to hurt your motor.

I forgot to post the pics of the stock charge pipe when we were making the DVs. THIS IS WHY YOU NEED A OIL CATCH CAN!!!!!! This is a forum member heres 135i with only a few thousand miles......

Notice the oil coating the pipe.

Does it sound as loud as a BOV from outside the car under hard shifting?

Not going to be as loud as a BOV because it doesn't dump into the atmosphere. But you can definitely hear it when shifting. We had on the hardest spring for the video clips, so medium will make it a little louder if you'd like. Under spirited driving, you'll definitely hear it!

If you know which hose that is in the photo, it's actually the discharge hose from the IC. It would not bend as illustraded, instead it grows in girth under boost pressure. Not something you can see with the naked eye, but can probably feel with your hands on the tube while loading the engine.

That section of hose can be replaced with a 45 degree silicon elbow with 4" legs. It will give you a much smoother transition from IC discharge tube to the plastic tube just before the throttle body.

Hard piping for ALL turbo charge cars will be more efficient than flimsy rubber hoses. This is guaranteed. Its not efficient to have rubber hoses that flex and get bigger/smaller under load. Thats the reason almost all turbo cars have upgrade intercooler/charge pipe kits available. The stock piping is good for a stock car. The hoses are flimsy, and also have rings which cause turbulence because the piping would not be mandrel bent throughout. We have create a system that incorporate Dual diverter valves along with the high strength mandrel bent aluminum piping for a COMPLETE KIT.

Perhaps that swelling under pressure is a good thing if it absorbs some of the boost spike when the throttle closes before the diverters can bleed off the backpressure. I would think that boost spikes working backwards towards the compressor could stress the turbine blades which are still rotating forwards. I regularly see spikes of 1 psi or more on my boost guage in between shifts......gotta wonder what that's doing to the compressor blades. :eyebulge:

No, these are Riss Racing Diverter Valves. But no worries, you can use your on DV's if you'd like and just purchase the piping.
