I think it looks great. Better than the S550 refresh IMO.

It's a worse car in almost every respect. The PP is worse, the steering is still a sore point, it looks worse .... no idea why you'd get one over a gently used S550.

The front is awkward and the rear is just wrong, kind of looks like a camaro rear end, it's lost all of the flow in the design.

I have seriously considered the Emira, but not a huge fan of the supercharger whine and the reliability aspect has me hesitating

I drove an evora back in the day and it didnt stir me like a 981S did

but perhaps I should drive an Emira, definitely will offer a fresh experience

Z4 M40i with a manual. Great engine, good sound plus a drop top when desired.

Smaller, tossable, lighter weight than an M2. Good size trunk for a convertible.

I drive my Z4 M40i more than my 25 M4c
not a vert guy

Don't get your hopes up. It's touted in the media as if it's a concrete plan, but in truth it's just a throwaway line mentioned in an earnings call. Lotus doesn't really have the budget to develop an engine for a low production car like the Emira, and they painted themselves into a corner with the EV only move. Plus, Lotus has a long history of overpromising and underdelivering...
thought about the supra, but not a huge fan of the looks and also S58 over B58 any day so M2 *over supra for me

Go drive both. It's the worse powertrain in the two. The manual is just -ehh, and it blows up.

There's no way I would pass on the manual and I don't think baege should either.

We're talking a NA V10 vs yet another laggy turbo 6 that sounds like arse.

2012 M3 e92  [0.00]
I went through a similar thought process in June '24.

CTV5 Blackwing would be my choice, at that price I would have to give up my daily(Grand Cherokee Summit), so would need the utility of the Sedan.

New car prices do my head in though, in the end I just bought a manual e92 M3, and kept the SUV.

I can't use 650hp in this damn city anyway, and the Auto Solutions Shifter made this manual as good as any I have ever owned(never driven a manual Porsche).

The new M2 looks real good, and has really grown on me. If I had a different 5 year plan, I may have bought one already.

Good luck with your choice!

I was talking about Emira I4 vs. V6. But there's a reason baege is considering getting rid of the R8 already, and it's likely due to the transmission. I think he should've gone with a manual R8 V10.
