D1S Bulbs
Sorry, as I'm sure this has been widely discussed, but I'm low on time and need to get some bulbs in order to have my car inspected in Virginia. I just bought the car and installed the Lux H8 189's yesterday and now I need to swap the D1S bulbs out. The previous owner has two different one's installed so the colors are way off. I'm looking for a reliable and good looking bright white color to match the eyes, so I'm thinking it should be 6000k. I don't want the cool blue...just a pure white if it's possible. Can some of you lead me in the right direction? Thank you.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I've seen older forum posts talking about these M-Tech D1S 6000K bulbs, so they seem like something good on a budget. One of my HIDs is dimmer than the other, so I might give these a shot and see.

My experience with HIDs says go Osram or don't bother.
I picked up a set of Osram nightbreaker laser D1S bulbs to refresh my nearly 10 year old stock bulbs. I'm sure you can find something from Osram to fit your temperature preference. That said, only buy from official retailers. Osram are so good the chinese copies are everywhere, even Amazon.

I did the Osram xenarc , can't recall which part number, but I wasn't impressed vs stock.
IMO, the optics are more important than the bulb and cost of the bulb. If it's simply a color you're after, don't break the bank. Morimoto brand is fine. And I still swear the FRM3 outputs more power to the headlight than the FRM2. |

For the color you're after, I'd recommend the Osram CBB bulbs. They're the brightest bulb available in the 6K color range. You should be extremely happy with those.

The Phillips X-treme vision are a significant upgrade over stock.
https://www.powerbulbs.com/store/cat...1r/fitting/d1s Looks like OSRAM has a new bulb that is supposed to be even better. Hmmm, may be time for an upgrade. |
