New Owner 128 Coupe Calgary
I'm a new owner of 128 since mid-Sept and really loving my new car (she can go!) I'm enjoying reading all the postings on this board and am getting some good info.
I don't see very many 1ers in Calgary at all, but maybe it's just me??? A year ago when the 1 was launched I took out for a test drive - to be honest, I wasn't loving it - it just seemed too small, and I wasn't digging the body style either (all I kept thinking or seeing was Mustang). I took a 3 out for a test drive and was pretty sure that was the car for me, but would wait for the 09s to arrive. Long story short, I waited to buy for another year and the more I saw of the 3's on the road and the parkade at work full of them, they were just EVERYWHERE and it began to look like a Buick - it was just way too big! I came around to the smaller 1 when I would spot one on the road, the odd time, they were looking pretty sharp! Really, really happy I went with a 128 - took awhile, but I saw the light! Car is just perfect for me - and I got the most girly colour too, the Bluewater Metallic, the colour that many of you seem to like the least. And she's an automatic too, so I guess that totally does make her a girl, but she's sure pretty! LOL Anyway, see you other 1ers on the road around Calgary in the coming days! |

Congrats on the car, great to hear a fellow Calgarian getting a 128i :P I originally had the bluewater on order but ended up with Sedona Red cuz I really wanted a red car hehe.

I agree: To me the 3 series, with few exceptions, is a tired, dull car that you see everywhere. Once you've seen a 1, there's no comparison, never mind once you drive it. It just shocks me how many people buy low end 3 series--might as well buy a Camry.

Actually man, I know a number of people who have bought a 323 to replace a Camry. I'm getting ready to order a '10 128i... I'm getting pumped. Tested one and it was more exciting than the e92!
