i think you are wrong. I think it is standard in all cars. Again, no ZPP, no folding mirrors, but I have the option to have my mirrors tilt down in reverse.

wait wait wait... do all 1 series have this feature? I've never seen mine do this (although I've seen this feature on my friend's 335i).

I have a 2009 135i with only the M-Sports package.

I was just at my dealer working out some things and I asked the question. The auto tilting mirror when thrown in reverse is standard on the 135i. The folding side mirrors is an option in the Premium package.

yea. There is a little button that toggles left to right near the mirror controls... switch it the other way, and when you go into reverse the passager side mirror will point to the ground... I never use it, I find it a pain in the neck the other times I reverse.

I find it quite simple to switch it on when needed and then off when not - as BMW apparently intended.

Guys... I just checked this out on my 2010 135i with a 6MT. My car does NOT have this feature.

In the owners manul there is a STAR denodting an optional feature. So... I think this must be part of the premium package. I tired moving my miror switch in both positions, and teh pass side mirror never tilts down. But this doesn't really bother me either.

My car only has: M-sport pak, Cold weather pak, USB/Ipod and met paint.

Bumping this thread because I gave it a try on my 135i and nothing happens. I tried it with the switch in both positions, passenger side mirror doesnt move at all when I put it into reverse.

So to confirm, you guys with manual seats and non-folding mirrors have this feature in 2010 or newer cars?

I have a 2012 without premium package and mine doesn't tilt. It was very useful all these years in my other BMWs as I street park a lot and it's extremely helpful in that situation

I tried that, no luck. You need option SA430 or power seats in order to have this feature from what I can tell (ie. LIN-bus wired side mirrors, not 5pin)

Do I have folding mirrors if I have the premium package? I just got them to turn down in reverse, but don't think they auto fold still.

Think I have the premium... garage door opener/compass etc.
