I had the Maddad in combination with my Akra exhaust and AR Design downpipes, but unfortunately that combo created a loot of drone and vibrations, so I ended up switching back to my N54 mid pipes and that took away all the drone and noise problems.
Now after a few years I'm considering switching up to the N55 mid pipes.
Has anyone used the N55 mid pipes with an Akrapovic exhaust and aftermarket downpipes on the 1M?

I have gotten used to the MadDad with Akra.

It is loud and aggressive. I like it.

My problem with that combo wasn’t that it was too aggressive, I loved that part, but the thing is that from about 2400 to 2900rpm the drone was simply unbearable...just plain awful.
Going back to the N54 mids fixed that, but of course everything was muted down a bit. So now my goal is to get some of that aggressive growl back, but without the drone.

There is a little drone, but not too much, I am comparing it to my MPE on the M2 I owned, it sounded like an airplane at 2900rpm.

The only way I have found to not have too much drone is to go for more rasp. In the future, I want to to get the full aka mid section.

Does your downpipe contribute to the drone?

The stock system has a little drone, but when I was researching, it seemed like the N55 was the preferred route to get rid of the drone.

N55 mids do not completely fix the drone but significantly better than the stock 1M midpipe as I recall.

getting my "new to me" 1M next week. What mid pipe do you recommend and do you have a link to purchase it?

Deeper, meaner sounding exhaust note with a nicer burble in downshifting..

I have never really had any drone, so no comparison to make in that regards.

Deff more torque mid rev range 3.5K rpm and up in 2nd and 3rd gears.

Dynoed before install and will dyno again next week for comparison.

I've had both an N55 mid and a MadDad midpipe -- the MD improves the sound the most (keeping in mind that this is a subjective thing.)

https://www.daddysscp.com/product_p/md135mp.htm

You can occasionally find both pipes used on the 1addicts general forum for sale used.

Congrats on joining the 1M club!

I have the Maddad as well. Bought from off another member on the forum. If you don't mind used, be sure to check the 1 Series For sale section as well. It's the same midpipe and there seems to be more activity in that area.
