Tire sizes for stock wheels

Yet another tire thread.

I am not planning to go staggered. IO am going to keep using 1 set of wheels/tires for street use and auto-x and HPDE. I am running a tune and think increasing the stagger a notch will help put power down, and also tend to wear the rears out before the fronts are finished.

I am using the stock wheels.

I have narrowed it down to 255/35 front and 285/35 rear (which has the most tire options and would probably result in an accurate speedo and make the effective gearing a little taller which this car needs) or going to 30 series and running 265/30 front and 295/30 rear. 30 series in those sizes are pretty close to the stock set-up with regard to diameter, should fit in front without rubbing, but might look a little "stuffed" on the stock wheel widths.

Any thoughts? Anyone running these sizes?

I was wondering this too. I thought even with the revised front fenders and existing stock camber that anything above 255 in the front would rub on full turn in. Also assuming stock height. Subscribed.

You should up one size.

Too wide of a tire doesn't get enough support from the wheel. You may get more traction while accelerating, but not in a corner.
