I have a small packet of tissues in there so I just shut the air flow off. Not really necessary for me but certainly good for Jesse's gum & Natureboy's baby formula.

Why are you still having baby formula Natureboy? Do you really like it so much?

I have notice that if you close this vent it increaes the air flow through the rear vents. Useful to cool the rear seats faster!

Keeps my Ipod cool. It tends to get hot while playing and charging at the same time. I just leave it in the compartment.

I store chocolate for my gf in there...when I buy her something nice :-) (she likes very expensive hand-made chocolates)

Other than that...Today I had a pasta sauce which says keep refrigerated, i popped it in the arm rest, put the ac on and it stayed cool. I parked my car (undercover) and 2 hours later...it was STILL cool (even though the car was fairly warm).

Is the armrest perhaps insulated? Like a cooler box?
I was impressed. Now I get to eat fresh pasta sauce...and i didn't come straight home! :-)

Am I right in assuming that the climate controlled armrest only gets as cold as the set temperature of the car?

Yes...so infact natureboy could keep his baby's formula nice and warm on a cold winter day roadtrip if he(the baby (or she?)) wanted!
