Smile >> HP Autosport<< Ferodo DS2500 Street/Track pad

The DS2500 is currently the best hybrid track/street pad on the market. It features the moderately high bite and solid fade resistance of a track pad, with the relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on certain vehicle platforms. During aggressive driving the DS2500 is known for its flat torque curve, which means as temperatures go up, the response through the brake pedal remains consistent. If you drive aggressively on the street, do some canyon runs, autoX, and maybe some light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is tough to beat.

When used on fast, heavy cars on the track with race tires, pad wear rates tend to be higher than some of the full track pad compounds. Under those conditions, HPA would recommend the Ferodo DS3000 or DS1.11.
E82 135i

Front pads: $274
Rear pads: $197

I'm looking to buy a set for my daily driver with some light track use...Is the 135i one of the 'certain vehicle platforms' that have a lot of squeal during street use?

Also, what is the typical shipping time? (Destination zip: 32828)

Thanks!

These are so popular they are currently on backorder from Italy. We are hoping to see more by the end of this week or early next. Shipping time to the zip code is about 4 days.

These will be back in stock by the middle of next week.

When properly bedded in, these Ferodo DS2500's makes hardly any noise on the street and that is why it's so popular with weekend track guys. These are a better choice for better braking(cold and hot) and less dust and noise over the Hawk HP+'s. We have yet to find another brake pad out there with the same characteristics.

Good to know - had to go with Cool Carbon's this time around due to the time crunch...but as soon as those are done I'm eyeing the Ferodo's. I'll make sure to check with you guys sooner next time around!

Thanks for the info.

I can't seem to find the temp rating. What do the temps range between for these pads? I'd like to know what they're like when the cars cold.

Got the rears from Harold a couple weeks ago... Just the rears... I must say, when they warm up, they REALLY make a difference... Got this done with stainless brake lines so that also helps.

I can only imagine the fronts would be even more noticeable, im thinking about dtiching the OEM new front pads I have and complete mye setup with the Ferodos...

They brake OK when they're cold, but once they are warmed up, thats where they shine.

Hey Harold, Im going to buy s front set of pads for track use. I already have Ferodos in the back, wich I only use for the track (Cool Carbons as daily). Will it be OK to run HAWK DTC 60 or 70 on the front and the ferodos ds2500 on the back?? Or should I stick with the Ferodos on the 4 wheels?

I really want the racing pad feel but truth is the track I go to isnt that hard on brakes according to me.

You will get much better and consistent braking performance with a race pad on the track. DTC-70 front with DS2500 rear would be fine as the front of the vehicle will be doing 70-80% of the braking anyway. In addition, the DTC-70 pad has much more brake torque and can handle much higher temperatures in case you want to explore the limits of your 135i!

Harold, is there any better brake pad for the street? Will I notice a better brake feeling over the OEM on daily driving?

For the street I recommend the Stoptech Street Performance Pads:

http://www.hpashop.com/Stoptech-135i...s-E82-135i.htm

Brake torque is more linear and without the sudden initial bite of the OE pads.
