If you ever wondered why your V6 automatic Frontier or similar Nissan wouldn't shift past neutral into drive.

Haven't done anything with my car this week. My sister's Jetta has been in the garage the entire time. Replaced a failing brake master cylinder with an even worse-off used master cylinder. Also trashed her JUNK 034 sway bar for a good ST one.
Never, ever, ever buy stuff from 034Motorsports. All of their stuff just SUCKS. My car's still in track mode with bald RE-71R's, race pads, and ALL the camber up front. That looks a bit incorrect

So I tried to put some 13mm plastic hose/tube up the inside of my rubber door seal as i get a small air leak around 100km/h+. I rounded the edge off so it would slide in and lubricated it with glass cleaner then began pushing it upwards...however a little over half way up and it gets stuck and i just can't "encourage" it anymore without the tube folding in on itself...Any suggestions?

Use something like an interior protectant. The generic term, armor all. I covered mine LIBERALLY and had no issues. |

Replaced a Dinan ssk with a UUC Evo3 ssk. The difference is amazing as the UUC is sooo slick compared to the Dinan, which really made 1-2 and 3-4 shifts feel very resistant. I also have the DSSR installed and Turner bushings and this shifter, for me, is the best gear changing experience I’ve had in a vehicle.

Went with the BMW SSK lever and the AKG DTM selector rod myself, as well as the teflon shift bushings and poly shift arm bushing. It's absolutely delightful to drive with

I replaced a few things on the ol' N52 this weekend...
The tensioner and belt were a breeze. The N52 is surprisingly easy to work on for many things. You've got much more room to work than a FWD car. As for the hoses, nothing was too complicated, but the two quick release fittings going to the radiator were stuck on there pretty good. I cut part of them off with a Dremel rather than risk breaking the radiator neck. The thermostat and water pump proved a little easier than I expected, but the hardest part was getting the clamp on the hose from the engine block to the thermostat. For anyone who cares, the total cost of hoses was $340. I used two BMW hoses and the rest were Rein. In retrospect, I don't think I'd replace most of them again. None of them were in bad shape. Oh well, I plan to keep this car for a long time and I'll probably never need to replace any of them again. The only downside to everything is that I mistakenly tried to remove the radiator control sleeve rather than the drain plug and it automatically destroys itself when you do. Now I need to wait until Monday to get the replacement and fill it back up with coolant.

Good work. What is the size of the Torx to loosen the tension? I've seen different sizes mentioned.

Got my 1m/m3 control arms installed today. My car has only seen a couple of winters and there wasn't all that much rust on the bolts/studs in the knuckle but they were a pain to get off. Broke 3 or t40 torx bits and ended up cutting 3 of the 4 nuts off.

Well rats! I pulled many of the metal clips out and I don't know where they all are. I'll see if I can find all of them. Two of the connectors were destroyed. I'll PM you with what I find out.

The Torx bit to release tension is a massive T-60. The bolt that holds the tensioner on is a E-14. I would recommend a breaker bar. It would be tough to do with a ratchet.

I installed a ZHP knob and a new leather boot. I liked my M-Sport knob but the finish was starting to peel away. Same with the boot - when I compared it to the new one I could see it was looking tired.

Love the Coral Red interior. I think it's the nicest color available for the 1 series. I had it in my first 1er and I still miss it.
