Suspenceful's 2008 BSM 135i build thread!

I didn't wanna let you down, so I put together a brief build update and showed off my new single turbo kit. First time doing something like this, so let me know what you think!

My buddy Lee has been helping me behind the scenes on some stuff due to my lack of motivation. He's a certified BMW tech. Anyways, on to the updates.

We swapped over all the accessories from my previous motor. Injectors, water pump, HPFP, oil filter housing, tensioner, pullies, etc. Took a peek at the internals while we installed the new valve cover and oil pan gasket. Everything looked minty. Then we fitted the single turbo parts. Everything is coming together nicely. I'm going to walnut blast the intake valves this weekend, then it should be ready to go back into the car.













I've decided to continue with the vlog-style videos for now. Here you can see the full kit installed, and I answer a question I've been asked a lot.

Walnut blasted the valves on the new motor so I didn't have to break my back and remove the intake manifold later.













Then.................. the new motor found it's home!

If anyone is curious about the walnut blasting procedure, I put a DIY video together. I figure there are enough people on here that need the job done, no sense in paying a shop to do it. I've listed all the supplies needed to do the job for around $100 and walk you through the process.

Stuff happened this weekend! I was able to try starting the car...

As you can see in the video, there are still things that need to be finished. Everything went smoothly, hoping to have the car back together next weekend and take it for a drive!

Not a whole lot of interaction on this forum. More response on other forums like ***********, ***********, and N54tech. Maybe this build is out of the comfort level for 1Addicts?

Either way, I put together a port injection comparison video while I had the intake off.

Just took the car for a drive this weekend, so stay tuned for the next video!

Sounds sensational and looks to pull just fine on wastegate boost! Looking forward to hearing/seeing how this custom exhaust comes together. I think I'm just going to stick with the OEM cat-deleted midpipe and Maddad Whisper to keep volume in check a bit.
