Picking up my car tomorrow. What emergency fluids do I bring.

Driving my car home tomorrow.
maybe an hour and a half away at most.
2010 335i auto. Low miles

In my emergency survival kit, I have
Engine oil
Antifreeze
Gloves
Wrenches
Tape
AA card

What brake fluid? Dot 3? Dot 4?
What kind of power steering fluid?

Anything else you can think of?

Thanks.

AAA Card? You might be over thinking this. I'd stop at a filling station and check the tires and fluids (coolant before you leave, of course). Then drive it home like you stole it! An hour and a half isn't really too much of a trip to worry about.

Thanks.
Ha. Triple A card, not Alcoholics Anonymous card.

I bought a Jeep Grand Wagoneer once. 2 hour drive. Guy did me a solid and rotated the tires before I picked it up. Front Drivers side wheel literally came off the truck on the highway doing 65. Watched the wheel roll past us like a cartoon.

My copilot rolled the wheel a quarter mile back up the highway. Cop slowed down and we gave him a wave like we were all set, and luckily he kept going. Found 1 lugnut. Took one off the other 3, Stuck the wheel back on drove it home. No problems.

Did you get a pre-purchase inspection or are you going to before buying it? If you do that you probably won't need the survival kit. AAA or other roadside assistance is a good idea. Other than that, if its in good shape just drive it and enjoy, then change fluids when you get home.

How many miles and has it had the water pump changed at all during its life? They last 65k-85k miles depending on luck and various factors (that no one actually knows...)

Here are the types of fluids

Oil = BMW LL01,
Antifreeze = BMW (or a European formula that says BMW).
Brake fluid = DOT4
Power Steering Fluid = Pentosin CHF11S Hydraulic Fluid

What tires are on the car? Be really careful if not very good winter tires.

The dealer or seller should make sure its good to go, even as just a courtesy.

That is what I was thinking. If the car can't go that far, it should not be bought!

Ok, now get yourself some fluids - mainly 6 to 12 cans of 12 or 16 oz fluids

I mean, those fluids should always be on hand at a moment's notice in my opinion....
