BMW 1 series hatchback suitable as familiar?

Currently I'm driving a BMW 325i Coupe. My girlfriend is pregnant so I'm thinking about an more practical car, especially with 5 doors to get the baby seat in the backseat. At first I thought at an BMW E90 sedan or touring, but I like the 1 series too, especially the 130i. I know the first generation 1 series is very tight, so I'm in doubt if it isn't too small for 2 persons+1 baby.

Does anyone have experience with this situation?

Have no experience but just want to add that you should check on a used car physically yourself. I've been looking on mobile.de with the possibility of importing a 2004/05 5 door into Canada from Germany and I'm seeing a few that would work for me altho not too many 130's. Obviously the shorter your wife, the more room in the backseat. I presently own a 2008 128 coupe, 2008 being the first year the 1 series was imported into North America.
Good Luck

I have an E87 (5 door) and it's fine for 2 adults + child. The rear seats are not suitable for adults, there's not enough leg space, but it's fine for children and with isofix no problems with a baby seat.

Trunk space is very versatile.

Hey, everybody! I just purchased a BMW E81 and more precisely a Limited Series called Limited Sport Edition. Indeed, the owner who sold it to me told me that there weren't many copies produced. It's a 130i Limited Sport Edition.

I did some research on the internet and the information I found said that 2000 copies were produced. This was for the 118i, 118d, 120d, 120i and of course the 130i.

My question is about the 130i: how many Limited Sport Edition based on the 130i were produced by BMW?

Thank you for the answer(s) you will give me.
