135i muffler onto 130i??

hi guys,
doing some research for my brother in law. to get some nice noise on his 130i (2006 model), can he bolt on one of the 135i mufflers.??

I was under impression it had to be an N55 muffler or am i totally wrong?

Thank you

Most desirable: N55 due to least number of internally perforated piping
Next desirable: Later-gen N54 had 30-40 more perforations
Last option: Early N54 had perforations everywhere

Neither are bolt on

Fairly simple job to fit for a reputable exhaust shop. One of the hangers on the 135i exhaust needs to be moved and obviously the pipe needs to be joined to the stock pipe.

I have the N55 rear muffler with stock everything else and it is more than enough noise for me. Plenty of pops and bangs on overrun, no drone and sounds insane in a tunnel!

How do you find out it is an early or later gen N54 muffler?

The muffler number for a N54 is 18307559995 on the VIN decoder, but I also found a muffler online with part number 18307559996 which is from a 2009 135i.
