HELP: Shadowline/Chrome Trim Removal
Anyone have a good DIY? I need to know how to remove/install the chrome/shadowline trim on the bottom of the windows:
I've searched extensively both on e90 (and around the web), and can't find a good source. That, or the image server they use is expired/not working. |

dm874 > Thanks man. Yeah, I've doing alot of research on it. There's a good reason why no one has chimed in. The door trim pieces come off, but it looks like the small-window trim is actually part of the window assembly. Meaning, you have to change the back windows. It's all one piece.

The back chrome trim is just held on by molding tape same as the 135i chrome emblem on the back. Just work a corner and slowly run a smaller trim tool with a terry cloth to protect paint a few times an the piece should lift off.
For the front window trim just roll down the windows and open the door to get the edge slowly to lift up and work towards the side mirrors. On the top trim work the back corner with a trim tool using a terry cloth or similar to protect the paint. You should here a click but keep working it slowly til the trim pops out and slowly work toward the front of the car repeating this. Once you get to the door edge you should be able to pull the rest of the trim off using both hands with out much issue.
