Ski Bag Delete

Anybody know how I finish deleting this??

I can't seem to pop it out. I removed all 5 bolts.

From the trunk POV, it looks like the carpet's in the way.. but I can't remove the carpet because the ski bag is in the way..

If you can find it on "Realoem" you might see info on it having tabs or hidden screws or something.

Might just need to pull harder! Kinda not kidding.

I found this over on the e90 side for the install, doesn't seem to be any trick for install, so probably just need to pull harder?

And the diagrams on RealOEM look a bit different: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=52_3381

Haha you weren't wrong.. I had to pull harder on the carpet. I actually disassembled the entire thing.

Once I got the carpet out, I was able to pull the whole container.

In case anyone in the future needs this, I attached some photos. Take a flathead and push/pry out the semicircle tabs inwards around the main hub.

The front side holds the trim together in the 3rd pic, which holds the bag. I broke it prying the wrong way lol.

The back side holds the door together.

**PRO TIP**
When you want to piece it back together, keep the door separate. Bolt the inside back first, then put the carpet liner in the trunk, then push the door back in.

It was impossible to get the carpet liner around the back door with the whole thing assembled.

I now have a normal pass-through, without the hassle of a skibag.

How did you remove the carpet housing surrounding the ski bag? I need to get at my mulf unit and that’s in the way.

Just gotta pull decently hard on one side after removing the tabs. It might bend a little, but it shouldn't fold.

EDIT: Just saw your other thread. Look at my pro tip above. It's a bitch to put the carpet back with the entire ski bag unit intact. Should consider decoupling the door before putting it all back together.

How does one go about de-coupling the door?

You just pry the tabs out.

The first pic shows holes the tabs in go into from the 2nd picture.

It might take some strength lol. Easier to put in than take out.
