However, this doesn't have any info for N55 or later cars. You're saying the DVD you purchased does?

I've used the TIS version before and this isn't it. This is an alldata version. I haven't checked myself, I left the program at a buddy's house last weekend after the clutch install. He checked and says it does have info for the N55. If I had it here I could take a screen shot. @ bmw1racer wait till you get the sharpie written on burnt cd. It almost made me feel dirty. Hahaha. It's like a high schoolers porn cd. Hahaha.

I wonder if the seller has the original disc or did he/she just make copies of a copy to sell... I suppose we could undercut the guy and sell copies of the discs to members here for $5 a pop.

Haha. This is an idea. I told my buddy to copy it so he can use it on his 2011. He copied the image but hasn't burnt to cd yet. I think he was talking about uploading it somewhere so people could just download it. I haven't asked him about the progress yet.

How big is the entire file?

If it's really large, you could set up a bittorrent for people to download it.

Got the disc in the mail today.

It appears to be working fine, though it doesn't cover my 2012 model year... Only up to 2011, but it's probably close enough.

I'm rather surprised at the crudeness of the interface... Looks like something back from the Windows 3.1 days.. LOL.

I'll definitely make a backup of the disc... Just in case.

Booo! That sucks it doesn't cover 2012. Really weird it has 2011 and not 2012. Everything is pretty much the same so atleast it has the 2011. I forget how big it was I think it was just over 5g. We'll see what we figure out. I need to make a back up as well. Just incase I scratch it.

If the seller was/is a subscriber to AllData, he should've been able to download updates to the database for 2012.... And 2013.

It's around 6.5GB... You'll need a dual-layer DVD (8.5GB) in order to back it up.

I have no experience with AllData. How does it compare to BMW TIS? Does it still make references to all the BMW special tools? How about torque values for fasteners?

Many Technicians call AllData = NoData. Its becuase they never have detailed info most techs need. BMW's TIS is much better - as one would suspect since BMW did build out cars.

It had torque values and sequence for everything when I used it to install my clutch. It also had the info for special tools and showed pictures for the few I looked at.

Thank you very much for posting. I've got it in my ebay shopping cart, but hadn't pulled the trigger yet. I'd be using it on a Win7 machine, but that shouldn't make much difference.

I keep getting this pop up window in the lower r/h corner of the screen that say's "AllData Repair Application Licensed to Thin App - VmWare" The seller is sending another disc to me......maybe my copy is copyright protected....
