JB4 6/4 Beta including MaxCool, AFR/EGT in dash, revised stealth gauges, and more...

Hey guys,

BMS just posted the JB4 6/4 firmware and interface on their site for your beta testing pleasures. Early feedback on the new features has been very positive. In addition to adding MaxCool (just in time for summer!) they've also expanded the in dash gauge options. You can now select boost, timing, iat, water temp, EGT, AFR, and meth independently for fuel and/or oil. The new stealth mode changes are great too. Your in dash gauges will show fuel and oil temperature until going over 50% throttle at which point they will show the remapped gauges. After 15 seconds of no heavy throttle they snap back to stock operation. Very cool.

Quote:
6/4 Beta Firmware:

1) Adjusted heavy part throttle wastegate mapping to reduce part throttle oscillation.
2) Corrected bug allowing effective PWM limit to be raised an additional 0.4%.
3) If the "mode" option under settings is set to any value greater than 0 user settings will not be reset to default during firmware uploads. Useful for those with custom mapping, etc.
4) Enabled methanol mapping additive and overflow failsafe for user definable map 6 as well as map 3.
5) Fixed bug with map 6 lower rpm boost values not saving.
6) Fixed bug with false 2ABC code triggered at very high elevations of 10,000'+
7) Added support for VC2/CMGS FSB by setting MethFlowMax to 100 and JB4 direct FSB by setting FutureUseD to 99.
8) Changed unused "FpSafety" user adjustable to "FpMapping" adjustable now used for fine tuning fuel pressure. A value of 0 disables fuel pressure mapping. A value of 90 matches the previous setting and is the new default.
9) Moved disabling adaptive FFPID from FutureUseD=99 to FutureUseD=98.
10) Adjusted laptop steering wheel commands to only function if FutureUseD=1 is set disabling normal steering wheel controls.
11) Added alpha "max cool mode" feature. Enable with menu 6 option 1. Disable with menu 6 option 2. Water pump and fan will run at 100% duty when water temperature is between 160 and 202 degrees F. At 203 degrees F the DME ignores the fan command but appears to continue to overrun the water pump. We'll keep working on finding a way to extend the fan range upward to make the feature more useful.
12) Added WaterTemp, EGT, and AFR options to gauge hijacking. Note EGT is read from factory DME and more study is required to determine if there is any useful application for it as a gauge.
13) Changed menu 2 to fuel gauge only options and added menu 7 for oil gauge only options. Now allows independent configuration of 7 parameters with each.
14) Changed CSV export default naming to YYMMDD_HHmm where time is in a 24hour format.
15) Changed "stealth gauge" mode to trigger over 50% throttle and added 15 second delay when going under 50% throttle before gauges return to stock operation.
16) Adjusted interface "WOT only" to display properly if a log starts under WOT, added a separator between runs, and lowered threshold to 40% TPS.
17) Adjusted Exp1 fields as follows. Default: AvgIgnRetard (degrees off maximum curve), FUD=3: LPH / 10, FUD=4: Speed in KMH / 10, FUD=5: Low fuel pressure / 10, FUD=6: EGT in F / 10, FUD=7: Water Temp in F / 10.

I love the sound of this! Now you just have to come out with the JB4 for the N55.
